Additional Equipment
Whenever measurements have to be conducted in areas with potentially explosion-hazardous atmosphere, the instruments can safely be set up in explosion-proof containers.
Certified for ATEX zone 1 and 2.
Supply filter units or pipe systems with sample.
Installed ahead of the analyser if coarse dirt in the sample water needs to be retained.
The filter insert can be taken out easily to allow cleaning.
The filter unit needs an external feeding pump for supply.
Installed ahead of analysers if finest dirt needs to be filtered off before measurement, as it is common practice in the phosphate measurement.
Includes a powerful pump and a wear monitoring gauge; no additional compressor is required. The filter insert is replaceable and exhibits long service life without the use of chemicals for cleaning.
Optionally available with filtrate heating.
If the sample is easily accessible for measurement, e.g. in a basin or open flume, the probes can simple be immersed for measurement. Probes which don’t meet the requirements of IP68 are mounted in an IP68 protective armature instead, which protects the sensitive electronic parts during prolonged immersion.
The tip of the protective armature has a special shape in order to serve as vortex funnel, ensuring an optimum flow around the probe.
Measuring weirs are used for flow measurement.
The measuring weir introduces a constriction into a channel, and the water flows over the crest of the weir. This creates defined conditions, which allow accurate determination of the flow rate by measurement of the height of the water above the crest (head over the weir).
The head over the weir is usually measured with pressure or ultrasonic sensors.

Installed ahead of analysers if the sample water contains fine, sedimentable dirt. This dirt can settle in the vessel, while the analyser takes its sample from the upper layer of the vessel through a filter insert.
Can be taken out for ease of cleaning.
A venturi flume is an open channel flow measurement device.
The constriction accelerates the flow through the flume, which creates controlled flow conditions.
Under these conditions a measurement of the water level (head) in front of the constriction is sufficient to achieve a reliable flow measurement.
The head in venturi flumes is usually measured with pressure or ultrasonic sensors.
